The Advantage with  Imidacloprid for dogs is a once a month topical flea treatment and flea preventative that is registered for use on both dogs and cats from birth. It is said that Advantage flea treatment for dogs kills 98-100% of fleas on dogs within 12 hours and prevents further flea infestations for up to 4 weeks. Directions for Use

Pass the applicator tip through the animal's hair to the skin level. Place the applicator tip on the neck area at the base of the skull of cats. Apply to skin between the shoulder blades on dogs up to 25kg. Dogs over 25kg should receive divided doses between the shoulder blades, between the hips, and one point in between. Keep this product away from the eyes and mouth.

 

Cautions

Dogs and cats older than 8 weeks can use this product externally. Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated animals, animals using this product with other pesticides, and debilitated or aged animals. Advantage is safe for use on pregnant and lactating animals. This product causes eye irritation in humans and is harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin. Call poison information center if swallowed. If on skin, wash with plenty of soap and water. If in eyes, flush with plenty of water.

Possible Side Effects

Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using any pesticide product for pets. If signs persist, or become more severe, consult a veterinarian immediately.
