Neovela

Brand Overview

Neovela is a generic spot-on treatment containing fipronil, providing monthly protection against fleas and ticks. Applied topically, Neovela kills adult fleas within 12 hours and ticks within 48 hours of application. Suitable for dogs from 8 weeks of age (weighing at least 1.5 kg), Neovela offers a cost-effective alternative to branded formulations, maintaining efficacy and safety under veterinary recommendation. It disrupts the flea life cycle by preventing flea eggs from maturing, helping to reduce environmental reinfestation pressures.

Key Benefits

Rapid parasite kill: Fipronil in Neovela begins killing fleas within 12 hours and ticks within 48 hours. Consistent monthly coverage: One application provides continuous protection for 30 days. Foil-pack convenience: Individual pipettes maintain product stability and ease of storage. Water-resistant: Effective after swimming or bathing; avoid water exposure for 48 hours post-application.

Usage & Dosage

Select the correct Neovela pipette based on body weight:

  • Neovela for Small Dogs (1.5 – 5 kg): One 0.5 mL pipette monthly.
  • Neovela for Medium Dogs (5 – 10 kg): One 1.0 mL pipette monthly.
  • Neovela for Large Dogs (10 – 20 kg): One 2.0 mL pipette monthly.
  • Neovela for Extra Large Dogs (20 – 40 kg): One 4.0 mL pipette monthly.
Part the dog's fur at the back of the neck until the skin is visible; apply the entire pipette content directly to the skin. Ensure the application site is dry and not greasy. Do not bathe or allow swimming for 48 hours after application. Repeat every 30 days—if the interval is exceeded, apply as soon as possible and resume the regular schedule. Store pipettes in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.

Safety & Considerations

Neovela is generally safe; mild local reactions—such as transient erythema, pruritus, or alopecia at the application site—may occur. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or nose—if accidental exposure occurs, rinse with water immediately. Do not use on puppies under 8 weeks or dogs weighing less than 1.5 kg. Pregnant and lactating bitches can be treated, but consult your veterinarian first. Ensure no other fipronil-containing products are used concurrently to prevent overdose. Keep removed pipettes and packaging out of reach of children and other animals. In case of excessive scratching or neurotoxic signs (incoordination, tremors), contact a veterinarian promptly. Do not apply to areas where dogs frequently groom themselves to prevent ingestion.
