Selapro is a monthly spot-on treatment containing selamectin for dogs, providing broad-spectrum protection against fleas, heartworm, roundworms, and hookworms. Applied topically at the base of the neck, Selapro's active ingredient is absorbed systemically, offering once-a-month coverage. Approved for puppies from six weeks of age (weighing at least 2.6 kg), Selapro simplifies parasite prevention by addressing both internal and external threats in a single, easy-to-apply formulation.
Flea control: Selamectin kills adult fleas and prevents eggs from hatching, intervening in the flea lifecycle. Heartworm prevention: Prevents heartworm infection by killing immature Dirofilaria immitis larvae. Roundworm and hookworm control: Effectively treats Ancylostoma caninum (hookworms) and Toxocara canis (roundworms), reducing zoonotic risk. Once-monthly dosing: Provides consistent protection, reducing the complexity of separate treatments. Puppy-safe: Approved for dogs from six weeks of age, facilitating early-life parasite prevention.
Apply Selapro topically once every 30 days. Choose the correct pipette based on body weight:
Selapro is generally well tolerated; mild side effects—such as localized hair loss, erythema, or pruritus—may occur. Rare systemic reactions include vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, and neurologic signs in MDR1-sensitive breeds (e.g., Collies). Use caution in dogs with a history of seizures; genetic testing for MDR1 mutation is recommended for at-risk breeds. Do not use on puppies younger than six weeks or weighing less than 2.6 kg. Pregnant and lactating bitches can be treated under veterinary supervision. Avoid contact with the application site until it is dry—wash hands thoroughly after handling treated dogs. If accidental ingestion occurs or if severe reactions develop, seek veterinary assistance immediately.
