GastroAID Recovery - what is it and what does it do?

GastroAID Recovery (formerly GastroAID Digestive) is Kelato's premier digestive health supplement, targeting both foregut and hindgut health, which aids in the recovery from gastric ulcers and other common digestive conditions.

The unique aspect of GastroAID Recovery is the provision of "coating agents" such as pectin and lecithin that act as a protective barrier over the stomach wall to prevent acid burns and strengthen the inner mucosal lining.

In addition to horses with equine gastric ulcer syndrome (EGUS), horses recovering from EGUS, as well as horses under a significant amount of stress, GastroAID Recovery is also suitable. GastroAID Recovery can prevent gastric ulcers in horses prone to developing them during stressful periods.

 

How does it work?

 

Optimal digestion and absorption: Wholegrain oat flour delays stomach emptying, ensuring a healthy rate at which the digestive system can process food for optimal digestion and absorption of nutrients.

Antacids buffer stomach acid: Antacids work by stabilizing (buffering) the stomach acid, thereby reducing irritation to the stomach lining.

    In order to prevent the stomach from being destroyed by stomach acid, it helps to form a layer of anticorrosive protection over the stomach surrounding it. Peroxide helps to prevent the stomach from being affected by stomach acid as well.

    The lecithin used in this product helps to enhance the health of the stomach lining by making these cells more resilient: Lecithin is a phospholipid that plays an important role in enhancing the integrity of the stomach lining.

    The Levucell SC® live yeast probiotic improves the efficiency of feed conversion by decreasing lactic acid in the hindgut (stabilizing pH levels) while stimulating the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria for an optimal ratio of feed conversion.

Directions for use

 

Feed 50g per 100kg of bodyweight, divided into two meals. Introduce GastroAID Recovery gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days.

It is safe to feed GastroAID Recovery long-term. It is also safe to feed GastroAID Recovery to foals and youngstock at a rate of 50g per 100kg body weight (divided over two feedings).

 

Within one clear day of a race, GastroAID Recovery is not permitted.
