Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Cat Renal

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Feline Renal Dry Cat Food is formulated to support kidney function in adult cats diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). It helps reduce the workload on the kidneys while maintaining balanced nutrition to support overall health and appetite in affected cats.

Kidney support

This diet contains a restricted level of phosphorus and a moderate amount of high-quality protein to reduce strain on the kidneys and help limit the accumulation of waste products in the blood.

Rich in EPA and DHA

Omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil, including EPA and DHA, are included to support renal filtration and help slow disease progression.

Helps manage metabolic balance

CKD can lead to metabolic acidosis. This formula contains alkalinising agents to support acid-base balance and help manage complications linked to kidney disease.

Enhanced palatability

Designed with a specific aromatic profile to help stimulate appetite and reduce the risk of food aversion, which is common in cats with CKD.

Veterinary indications

This diet may be prescribed for:

  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), IRIS stages 2 to 4
  • Prevention of urate and cystine urolith recurrence
  • Management of calcium oxalate recurrence in cats with reduced renal function

Not recommended for

This food is not suitable for kittens, pregnant, or lactating cats.

Important feeding notes

This diet is usually prescribed for a minimum of 6 months, with regular veterinary check-ups recommended. In cases of food aversion or diet-induced hypercalcaemia, consult your vet about switching to an alternative renal option such as Early Renal.
