Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Dog Renal

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Renal Dry Dog Food is specially formulated to support dogs with chronic or temporary kidney issues, including azotemia and proteinuria. This diet is designed to reduce the workload on the kidneys while maintaining overall health, energy, and appetite in dogs living with CKD.

Supports kidney function

This formula includes reduced phosphorus and a moderate level of high-quality, digestible protein to help minimise nitrogenous waste. This reduces strain on the kidneys and supports their ongoing function, especially in dogs diagnosed with IRIS stage 2 4 kidney disease.

Helps balance metabolism

To combat the metabolic imbalances common in CKD, the food contains alkalinising agents that help support the body's acid base balance. Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) and a proven antioxidant complex also help protect kidney cells from further damage.

Encourages eating

With an adapted energy density, this formula allows smaller meals while still delivering sufficient calories. A specially developed aromatic profile and texture help stimulate appetite and reduce the chance of food aversion, which is common in dogs with kidney disease.

Recommended for

  • Dogs with azotemic chronic kidney disease (IRIS stage 2 to 4)
  • Dogs with proteinuric CKD (IRIS stage 1 to 4)

Not recommended for

  • Puppies
  • Pregnant or lactating dogs

Feeding recommendation

This food is intended to be fed under veterinary supervision and maintained long-term for dogs with kidney issues. Routine check-ups and monitoring of renal parameters are recommended to ensure continued suitability.
