Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine S/O Urinary Dry Dog Food is a vet-prescribed formula designed to nutritionally support dogs with urinary tract issues, including struvite and calcium oxalate uroliths.

Dissolves and prevents urinary stones

This specialised diet is formulated to help dissolve existing struvite stones and prevent the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. It's low in magnesium and designed to reduce the concentration of stone-forming minerals in the urine.

Promotes urinary tract health

By encouraging urine dilution and increasing urinary volume, this diet helps flush out the bladder and reduce the risk of crystal build-up. Its low RSS (Relative Super Saturation) formulation reduces the likelihood of stone formation over time.

When to use it

Royal Canin Urinary S/O is typically fed for 5 to 12 weeks for the dissolution of struvite stones and up to 6 months to prevent recurrence. Dogs should be monitored regularly by a vet to assess ongoing needs.

Recommended for

• Struvite uroliths dissolution and recurrence management
• Calcium oxalate uroliths recurrence management
• Bacterial cystitis with struvite crystalluria (with appropriate antibiotic therapy)

Not recommended for

• Chronic kidney disease (CKD)
• Heart disease requiring sodium restriction
• Use alongside urine-acidifying medications
• Puppies, pregnant or lactating dogs
• Dogs with pancreatitis or hyperlipidaemia

Important note

Before starting this diet, renal function should be checked in older dogs. Ongoing veterinary supervision is essential for safe and effective use.
