Wombaroo Dog Milk Replacer is an excellent source of nutrition for orphaned puppies and as a supplement for nursing dogs. Here's how to prepare and feed it:

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Assemble Supplies:
    • - Wombaroo Dog Milk Replacer powder
    • - A mixing container
    • - Warm water (previously boiled and cooled)
    • - A sterilised bottle or syringe for feeding
    • - Accurate measuring tools (spoons or scales)
  2. Determine Feeding Needs:
    • - Calculate the daily intake using your puppy's weight and the chart provided below.
    • - Prepare the total amount of powder and water for the day's feedings.
  3. Prepare the Milk:
    • - For 30 mL of Milk:
      • Mix 1 level scoop (6.5 g) of powder with 25 mL of warm water.
    • - For 1 Litre of Milk:
      • Mix 215 g of powder with 850 mL of warm water.
    • - Stir or shake until the mixture is smooth.
    • - Milk can be stored in the fridge for up to a day or can be frozen for up to 2 weeks.
  4. Check Milk Temperature:
    • - The milk should be at body temperature (approximately 37 C or 98.6 F). Test it on your wrist to ensure it's warm but not too hot.
  5. Feeding Process:
    • - Lay the puppy on its stomach to mimic natural feeding positions.
    • - Slowly administer the milk using a sterilised bottle or syringe.
    • - Ensure the puppy swallows correctly and doesn't inhale the milk.
  6. Cleaning and Storage:
    • - Clean and sterilise all feeding equipment thoroughly after each use.
    • - Refrigerate any unused milk and use it within 24 hours.

Example: A puppy weighing 300 g should receive 55 mL of milk replacer daily, divided into several feedings.

  • - Start introducing solid food around 4 weeks of age and gradually decrease the amount of milk replacer as solid food intake increases.
