Hill's has been a pioneer in pet nutrition for over 80 years, combining scientific research with proven formulations. Developed in collaboration with veterinarians and animal nutritionists, Hill's dog foods—branded under Science Diet® and Prescription Diet®—address normal health maintenance and clinically diagnosed health conditions, respectively. Hill's commitment to rigorous quality control and evidence-based recipes ensures dogs receive precise nutrition tailored to their unique needs.
Hill's Science Diet® provides balanced, high-quality nutrition for all life stages, from puppy to senior. Their formulas use high-quality animal proteins—chicken, lamb, or fish—combined with wholesome grains, fruits, and vegetables. Key ranges include Science Diet Puppy for healthy growth, Science Diet Adult to maintain optimal weight and vitality, and Science Diet Adult 7+ or 11+ designed to support senior dogs with joint and cognitive health. Each recipe features antioxidants for immune support and balanced fibre for digestive wellness.
Hill's Prescription Diet® is available exclusively through veterinary recommendation to address specific health conditions. k/d® kidney care formulas assist dogs with renal insufficiency. u/d® urinary care formulas help manage struvite and calcium oxalate crystal formation. i/d® gastrointestinal care supports digestive health in dogs with chronic enteropathy. Additional formulas target heart health (h/d®), weight management (r/d®), and diabetic support (w/d®). Each therapeutic diet includes precise nutrient ratios and targeted ingredients, such as reduced phosphorus for kidney support or low-fat formulations for pancreatitis management.
For Science Diet, follow the feeding chart on the product label, adjusting portions based on activity level and life stage. Puppies are typically fed three times daily until six months, then transition to twice-daily adult feeding. For Prescription Diet, strictly follow your veterinarian's dosage and administration guidelines. Gradually transition over 7–10 days by mixing increasing amounts of the new formula with decreasing amounts of the current diet. Monitor your dog's body condition and clinical signs closely, and schedule regular veterinary follow-ups to evaluate efficacy.
